Happy Birthday Ari!

When you are one year old it is all about you, isn't it? As it should be! So many things to explore. So many new things to learn. So very busy.

This little cutie was in town from California and came for his first big boy portraits the day before his first birthday. What a sweet baby!

This baby was too cute. Her face would go through a million expressions in about 2 seconds. She was a pretty serious little thing, but so much fun! She's such a doll-baby!

It was pure joy to spend the morning with Kimberly and her wonderful mom...and we are even more excited than ever for the wedding! Here you go, Kimberly--it was such fun, wasn't it? It was tough to narrow down, but here's a few of my favorites...

Most people don't realize how much patience it takes to photograph newborns.

We really have to let go of expectations and instead go with the flow and be patient much longer than many new parents realize.

But for a lot of new parents, especially new dads, the worst part of the entire session is the reality that you will most likely get spit up on, peed on, and possibly.... pooped on! Very unpleasant, but sometimes you just gotta take it because the end result is so very worth it.

So, this is for Marla and Craig...but especially for Craig....
